Window Bird Feeders
Enjoy the view of your backyard birds without leaving the house? Put one of these in your kitchen or bedroom window. Window mount bird feeders are a wonderful way to teach your children about birds, or just anyone can enjoy them. Great for shut ins or elderly who can't get outside very often as a way to still enjoy nature and the birds in your yard.
There are a variety of window mount bird feeders. Many attach with suction cups, but there are even large windowsill feeders that can be filled from inside the home!
You can fill these will all types of bird seed or food, including pellets, seeds, mealworms, nuts, or even fruit and jelly. We also have a selection of window hummingbird feeders. You want to attract smaller birds because with larger birds you might find the weight is more than the feeder can hold, especially the suction cup mounted types. This would include titmice, chicadees, finches, wrens, or even cardinals. With smaller birds you may be able to attract larger numbers of them, as they may flock to the station.
You may find that you can get very close to the feeder while the birds are feeding if the light is right, as it can reflect in such a way that the window acts as a mirror and shields you from view.
