Finch Bird Feeders
Finches range in size from small to fairly large. Their beaks
are strong, somewhat stubby. They have twelve tailfeathers
and with nine primaries.
People enjoy having finches in the yard because they can be
fairly active, with a bouncing flight, are fairly social so
they will often have a large flock gather around a feeder.
During the nesting season they may tend to be a little more
aggressive, but that doesn't last long.
The America Goldfinch is often attracted to a
nyjer feeder, which uses nyjer
seed and requires a special feeder due to the small size
of the seed. Other common types of finches include house
finches, purple finches, and Cassin's Finch.
