Bird Feeder Poles

One of the most common problems we have to deal with is keeping the critters out of the feeder. A bird feeder pole will help protect your feeder from the critters in your yard. It's also a good way to mount the feeder where it is visible from your windows or patio, but where you don't have a place to hang the feeder. There are a couple types of bird feeder poles you may want to consider.

Bottom mounted bird feeder poles have the feeder secured to small platform, with the feeder sitting atop the platform. This typically requires some type of mounting hardware, and it great for use with a platform feeder, or many of the decorative feeders.

The common alternative is a hanging bird feeder pole. This is great for use with tube feeders, and is often used with the motorized squirrel proof feeders like the Droll Yankees squirrel proof feeders. Some have multiple hooks so more than one feeder can be hung on the pole.

A few bird feeder poles come with squirrel baffles built in to keep the squirrels from climbing to the feeder mount.

The other factor to consider in a bird feeder pole is the height that you want to mount the feeder. For some feeders, like purple martin feeders, you may want to mount the feeder 15 or 20 feet in the air, but for others you may simply be looking to place it at eye level.

Protect your feeder today with a bird feeder pole. Popular models include some by Droll Yankees and Duncraft.
